What a fun day!

Yesterday Dennis and I took off to spend the day with our little man. I am going to make this a tradition. We had such a fun day even though it rained. We took Coleson for lunch at Chick-fil-a. They put a balloon on his highchair and he held on to it the whole time. He loved it.

Afterwards we took cupcakes to his daycare for all of his friends. We then took Coleson to Toy R Us to get a power wheels 4-wheeler. We had to let it charge for a long time so he couldn't ride it right away. Last night we met my parents and Bethany and Preston to eat at Cock of the Walk. Aunt Bethany and Uncle Preston surprised him with a party hat and balloons.

This morning he got to ride his new toy and LOVED it. He already knows how to make it go. This will be a lot of fun this summer.

Daddy showing him how to push the button to make it go.

We hope you had a great birthday! We love you.

Happy Birthday, Coleson!

My sweet baby boy –
Today (29th) you will be one year old at 6:21 p.m. I will never forget this day as long as I live. The day before you were born I had a doctor's appointment that afternoon and my blood pressure was high so I was told to be at the hospital the next day at 5:00 to be induced. The rest of my appointment was a total blur. I couldn’t wait to call everyone to let them know that the big day was finally here. I ended up calling Daddy while the doctor left the room to schedule my induction. He didn’t believe me at first and thought I was joking. I couldn’t believe that I was finally going to be a MOM.
We had to get up really early the next day. We drove to the hospital in the dark and I was really scared and had no idea what to expect. It was so much easier than what I had thought it would be. I got my epidural and didn’t feel too much after that. This was the best day of my life. I never dreamed that I could love my child as much as I love you. It was definitely love at first sight. It is a love that only a mother understands.
You have been such a good baby and every new stage that we come to I love that much more that the one before. I think you are the sweetest, cutest little boy I have ever seen. I am a little biased and I don’t really care. Your smile brightens my day and your laugh melts my heart. You will never know how much your daddy and I love you.
So today we are going to celebrate your little life. You have brought us so much joy over the past year. There is no way I could possibly post it all. I thank Jesus every single day for allowing me to be your mom. I am such a lucky girl. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life loving you.

Some things you are doing at a year….

You weigh almost 24 pounds and wear 12 to 18 month clothes.

You love to eat and will eat anything that I put in front of you.

You are getting really close to walking. You will walk behind your push toys and you always make sure than one of us is watching you.

You think it is so funny when we hold your hand and help you walk. You start laughing so hard that you can no longer stand up.

Your vocabulary is getting a little bigger. You say, “DaDa, MaMa, Baba, NaNa, LaLa, and Duh!”

You wave, point and will throw a fit in the floor if you don’t get your way.

Everywhere we go people always tell me how cute you are. This makes me so proud.

You are not big on naps. You usually take several 45 minutes naps a day. You can get really fussy in the evenings.

Happy Birthday to the most precious little boy I know. Daddy and I love you so much!

Goodbye Bottles!

So it is officially that time.... today is the last day that bottles will be around my house. We are taking them away from Coleson cold turkey.

He will now be using a sippy cup 100% of the time.

I am hoping that this will not be very difficult for us. He really could care less about his bottle at this point. I have a really long post prepared for tomorrow along with a VERY long video that I have put together over the past year. Be on the lookout for it sometimes tomorrow.

Home Sweet Home

I am so glad to be back home. I went to Atlanta on Monday and got back home late this afternoon. I had a training for work and a few of us drove over there. We had a lot of fun but we had some long days. We also did a little shopping in a really nice mall. I sure did miss this little dude so much.

BUT I knew that he was in great hands. I never have to worry about anything while I am gone which is so nice. Dennis is so good with him and sometimes I think he is a better parent than I am. He does have a little more practice though. All three kids love being with him. They are really lucky to have a daddy that spends every second possible with them. Thank you Dennis for making my trip worry free.

1st Birthday Party

Today was Coleson's 1st birthday party. It was so much fun and he got lots of great gifts. This little boy doesn't need another toy for a WHILE! I went with a Barnyard theme and it turned out so cute.

I had this plate made for him to use at all of his birthday parties.

An Afternoon Stroll

Yesterday Coleson and I got to spend the day together. He woke up about 5:30 and was running a fever so I decided to keep him home. I took him to the doctor and everything checked out fine so I guess we had a good ole fever virus. He is much better today and we are both back to our normal schedules. He loves his wagon that he got for Christmas so I took him for a little stroll in the driveway yesterday afternoon. His hair do is so wild and crazy these days. It is so curly in the back. Dennis said that Brandon's hair was curly like this when he was a baby so I guess he gets those from Dennis. My hair has absolutely zero curl and want even hold a curl if I try so I knew this wasn't one of my genes. They will probably go away after his first hair cut but lets hope not. We have a super busy weekend ahead of us as Coleson has two birthday parties so that means lots of cake and ice cream for us. Abbey and Brandon come home tomorrow night and we can't wait.

No hands....

Coleson is now standing by himself. He won't stand there for very long. I guess he realizes what he is doing and sits down. Last night he would stand beside his toy for a long time and watch the balls pop up. We are just a few days away from his first birthday party. We are so excited about it and can't wait. Happy Hump Day!

Happy Car Rider

Coleson is now facing forward in his car seat. He likes it so much better now that he can see us. It is much easier on Dennis and I also. We hope everyone has a great week. The weekend go by way to fast.

Pants and Shirt Outfit

Birthday Fun

We had a fun day today. We woke up and had toast and jelly for breakfast. My little man sure can eat. He had 3 pieces. A ton was on his face though. :)

We went to Abbey's pitching practice before lunch. She loves softball and we love watching her practice something she loves so much and gives it her all. It makes us proud. We stopped and got some chicken at Cross Country Grocery and then headed home for Stella Grace's birthday party. I can't believe she is already one. Heather, her mom, and I were pregnant together and now we are celebrating their first birthdays together. We love our neighbors!
Coleson and his girlfriend.
How funny would it be if they really dated in fifteen years!

The cameras were all flashing of these two and big sister, Sadie Leigh, wanted to join. She is such a cutie!

Sadie Leigh "cheesin" for the camera.

The birthday girl was more interested in the box than all of her toys.
Happy Birthday, Stella Grace! We love you and hope we spend many more special days with you.
Sadie Leigh had as much fun as Stella Grace digging into the cake.

MSU Basketball

Dear Daddy,

As you can tell, I am a little confused as to why I didn’t get to go to the MSU basketball game tonight. I LOVE cheering for the bulldogs too. I know that my bedtime is at 7:30, but I PROMISE I wouldn’t have been fussy at all. Oh well! Maybe next time. The good thing is I will have fun eating with Grammie and Aunt Bethany tonight. Have fun at the game and GO BULLDOGS!!

Love you,
Coleson

Pants on the ground....

This is probably the funniest American Idol singer of all time in my opinion. I laughed about this song all night and I am still going around singing it.

No water... No work

Yesterday my office closed around lunch time because we didn't have any water due to the water line issues that the city of Jackson is having. Well guess what? It still isn't fixed so I am at home today. What a great way to start the week off. I have lots of stuff to get done for Coleson's birthday party so maybe I can get caught up.

Happy Tuesday!
(Maybe this will make Grammie's day. She told me this morning that it makes her sad when I don't update.)

Game night

Game night at the Steed household can get pretty intense. All four of us are extremely competitive. I am quite sure Coleson will be too. The new family favorite is Guesstures so we pulled it out tonight and played with Dee Dee, Chloe and Taylor. Let's just say my house was very loud for about an hour, but we had a blast.

A few videos below. They crack me up!
(Yes, I do have a deer head in my living room. Yes, I gave up fighting that one.)

Another Milestone....

Coleson changes and does something different almost everyday. This afternoon I heard Abbey say, "Come here and look at Coleson." I went in the living room to find him walking behind a toy. This was his first time and I am such a proud Momma. We went and got Dennis and Brandon, who were outside, for them to come and watch. Abbey grabbed my camera and started taking a video.

Maybe he will be walking by his first birthday.

Hip Hip Hooray!

My brother and sister are coming home tonight and I am so excited. I don’t get to see them very much so I get really excited when Daddy and Momma tell me they are coming. They tell me baseball/softball season is just around the corner and I will see them more. I can't wait!

(notice all my teeth?)
My daddy gives me my bottle and rocks me to sleep everynight. I throw a fit until my Momma gets my monkey and then I calm down. I have to hold on to it really tight until I fall asleep.

They tell me I am about to have a birthday soon. They taught me to hold up one finger and I do it all the time.

I finally fell asleep. I was just bluffing them because when they laid me down I surprised them like always and opened my eyes but I went right back asleep.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. I will be getting spoiled for sure. I have my big sis wrapped around my finger. She lets me come in her room and not my big brother. :)

Can you guess what Coleson ate?

He had spaghetti last night. I have been letting Coleson feed himself lately. Can you tell? He loves it and seems to eat more this way. The mess is a lot bigger but we go straight to the bathtub afterwards. Rascal likes it too. :) Dennis and I are so thankful that all of our kids will eat just about anything. I am a pretty picky eater so hopefully Coleson will take after his siblings.
