My eventful morning!

What a crazy morning I have had. Dennis left for work this morning around 7:15 and took Brandon to school. Abbey is at home today with a stomach ache so we had a long night with her and Coleson woke up more than usual to make it seem even longer. I was actually glad to see day light. About 30 minutes after Dennis was out the door, I noticed that Rascal was standing at our bedroom door wanting out. I figured that Abbey had woke up so I opened the door to go and check on her. I noticed that Rascal had run to the back door and was playing with something in his mouth. This is nothing unusal so I was trying to figure out what it was. He let it go from his mouth and I started screaming. It was a SNAKE and it was slivering across my floor. Rascal kept chasing it and picking it up with his mouth. I immediately got on the phone and called Dennis and told him to come home. He said that he was already close to work which is about 30 minutes from the house that I was going to have to kill it. He told me that I had to go outside and get the hoe. I was like no way am I getting close to this thing. I go into the living room and I can't find it. I freaked out even more. I looked under the recliner (from very far away) and noticed that it was curled up dead. Dennis told me that I had to get it out from under there because if it went into the recliner we would never get it out. So I went outide and got the hoe and knocked it out from under the chair and got a plastic bowl and covered it up. By this time, Dennis was on his way home from work. :) I figued it was dead and would be ok until Dennis got home. Yeah right! Rascal moved the bowl and it started moving again. I took the hoe and put it on its back and left it there until Dennis got home. I stood there and watch it the entire time to make sure that it didn't go anywhere. I am terrified of snakes so I'm sure I acted like a fool. It wasn't that big but it was big enough for me. Dennis has it hung on a softball net outside until Brandon gets home. He would have been very upset if he didn't get to see it. Oh the things boys are interested in!!

Lots of Random Pics...

Dennis and I had our first date Friday night since Coleson was born. We went to the movies and we had a great time. Of course I missed my baby, but it was good to have some time with Dennis by myself. I said before Coleson was born that we would do this at least once a month and I am sticking to it. We still need our quality time as well. Thanks Dee Dee, Taylor, and Chloe for watching Coleson for us!

My sister loves me!

Coleson sure does love when his sister holds him and rocks him to sleep. He can't wait until she can give him his bottle this week. Yeap, we are now taking a bottle and have been for a week. I LOVE it and Coleson does too. We can't wait to see you big sister and big brother this afternoon.

Daddy Time

The other night Dennis and Coleson were having Daddy time. I looked over and this is how they were. He loves his daddy and his daddy loves him.

Taking a Bath...

This was Coleson's third bath. I forgot to get the camera out during his first bath. I guess I was a little nervous and then his second bath I did by myself. So when Grammie was here this weekend she had her camera so we were able to get a picture. He is not too sure about taking a bath yet but he is good for the most part.

Momma's Sleeping Baby

Coleson loves to sleep in my lap. It is great computer time for me. I am able to use two hands to type instead of one. He can be sound alseep like this and when I go to lay him in his bed he wakes up. How does he know that I'm not holding him anymore? We don't care what Daddy says. I think he is a momma's boy for sure and I love it!!

Lots of New Things

We were finally able to give Coleson a bath Sunday night. He did pretty good. I was so glad that the time finally came. We were having his pictures made and we changed his diaper and there his ring was just laying there. I was so excited. Dennis gave him the first one as I was a little nervous, but last night I did it all by myself while Dennis was at a meeting. Coleson also made his first trip to his Daddy's work yesterday. Everyone loved him and it was great for them to meet him. He loved being held and rocked to sleep. We sure do miss Daddy when he is at work. We love you Daddy! Hopefully we will make it to my work this week. I know everyone wants to finally meet him. They all watched him grow inside of me for so long. We also got to see Abbey and Brandon last night. It is always great to spend time with them when they aren't with us.

Happy Birthday Rascal!

Today is Rascal's one year birthday (7 in dog years). He was almost a Valentine's puppy. We are going to take him to Brusters this afternoon for a doggy ice cream. Yes, they do have a doggy treat. Sounds crazy, but Rascal loves it. Happy Birthday, Rascal!

Abbey and Brandon's Valentines to Coleson

When I picked Abbey and Brandon up today from school, Brandon handed me the above piece of paper and said that it was Coleson's Valentine. How sweet is this! I love it. It will definitely make the baby book. I hope that Brandon will be a great big brother to Coleson and teach him how to do things such as sports, etc. I hope that they are the best of friends and that Brandon takes up time with him when they are older. Abbey gave Coleson the balloon in the picture above. It was sweet of her to think about him as well. They love their little brother so much and I love watching them interact with him. If he even make a noise that sounds like crying, someone is there to scoop him up. He is a spoiled rotten little fellow!

2 Week Check up

Coleson had his two week doctors visit today and everything went great. He weighs 6 lbs 9 oz and is 20 inches long. His head circumference is 35 1/2. Dr. Freeman said that everything looked great. He umbilical cord has fallen off and we are just waiting on the circumsion now. I can't wait until I am able to give him a bath at night. I am hoping that will help him sleep longer. He is doing much better though. We do still have some long nights. Dennis has gone back to work so I get up with him at night. Dennis would never make it to work if not.

Random Pics!

Sleeping so peaceful!

I woke up yesterday morning and this is how Coleson was sleeping. He had one leg over the cover. I guess he thought he was hot! It was so cute.

I went in the living room the other night and Dennis had a little baseball out already teaching Coleson how to hold the ball when pitching. They are starting early.

I love taking pictures.

This is the first time that Coleson has laid in his bed. No, he is not sleeping with us. He sleeps in his play pen that is beside our bed in our room. This is where he takes naps also. He just laid there in his bed and listened to his waterfall music player.
We let Coleson lay on his Boppy today on his tummy. He is really strong already and picks his head up. He will be holding it up on his own in no time

I got the camera out today when Coleson was awake. He is only awake for a little at a time so I have to be quick.

My trip back to Women's Hospital....

We had to go back to see the newborn nurse on Monday for Coleson's two day check up. This is a standard thing for all babies born there especially for first time moms. When we left the hospital Saturday, his weight was 6 lbs 1 oz. Monday it was the same, his tempature was a little low and he had a touch of jaundice, so we went back today to make sure it was ok. The nurse said that this was all because my milk had just come in the night before (Sunday). Everything was normal today so we don't have to go back. My weight was up to 6 lbs 4 oz. We are finally eating good. We go for a two week check up next Thursday. I am not looking forward to the shots he will get. Abbey and Brandon gave him his blue blanky with his initals on it for Christmas. We love it so much that we take it everywhere.

Welcome Home Coleson!!

Coleson and I got to come home from the hospital yesterday. I was so glad because I was ready to get out of that place. There is only so long that you can stay between the same four walls. The weather turned out to be beautiful and the temperture was just right. Coleson has been a great baby so far and we just love him to death.
