Smores at Bass Pro Shop

We went to Bass Pro Shop on Sunday so that Dennis and Brandon could look around. I love going there. I like it as much as Dennis likes going to the mall. Can you tell the sarcasm there? But, I know that they like to go so I will go with them. As we were leaving, they were letting kids make smores. I had a bite of Brandon's and it was yummy! When we got home that afternoon, we carved pumpkins. Pictures coming soon!

Homecoming 2008

Dennis and I took the kids to the Mississippi State football game Saturday. It was the homecoming game and Abbey looks forward to seeing all the girls dressed up every year. She was so excited again this year. She used Brandon’s binoculars and watched the entire half time through them. Our family has definitely started a tradition and we all look forward to football season at our house. It is so funny to watch Brandon at the games. He gets into the fight song and loves to cheer for the bulldogs. He will catch Dennis and me watching him and will get embarrassed. We both get so tickled at him and just start laughing. I sure have made a little bulldog fan out of him. It has been my dream ever since being a student at State to take my family to football games and tailgate. I have such great memories at MSU and I love sharing them with the people that I love. It really brightens my day to step foot on campus and my heart definitely bleeds MAROON and WHITE.

Catfish Picnic

Saturday, Dennis's department at work had a catfish picnic at a new park in Clinton at lunch. We went to it before going to the football game. The food was really good and the weather was very nice. There were some other kids there so Abbey and Brandon had a good time playing with them. Brandon was so worried that we were going to miss the state game. He kept asking if it was 6:00 yet and it was only 12:00. Poor thing LOVES to be in Starkville so he sure didn't want to miss out on anything.

I finally upgraded to Picasa 3. I have been using Picasa ever since I started this blog in 2005 and I think it is a really neat program. I was playing around with it tonight and finally figured out how to add text. Of course, Dennis had to show me but now I can do without his help.

Western Heritage Insurance Conference

This past Wednesday, I went to Scottsdale, AZ for an insurance conference. I had a really good time and got to see people that I only see once or twice a year. The weather was so nice and very comfortable everyday. I came back Friday night. Dennis and Brandon were waiting on me at the airport and I was so glad to see them.

He really is in there....

Last night, Abbey felt Coleson move for the first time. She was so excited that she could finally feel him. Her eyes got really big when it happened. Brandon felt him move Monday night at Abbey’s pitching practice so he was excited to be the first one. They are both so sweet to Coleson already. They both kiss my belly goodnight and tell him that they love him. I can’t wait for all of us to meet him in just a few months. They are going to be a great big sister and big brother. Nine months is a really long time for a child to wait on something so big to happen in their life. They have been really patient and are definitely on the countdown. They are always asking us how many more days until he will be here. 116 days until my due date!

Halloween Fun

Dennis and I went to a Halloween Party Friday night. I was a pregnant nun and he was a priest. We had a really good time and it was fun to dress up. We had some great food and desserts. I made sausage pinwheels and oreo balls. I will post the recipes below. They were easy to make and a big hit at the party.

Sausage Pinwheels:
1 can cresent rolls
1 lb. sausage

Lay out cresent rolls into a square and pat until flat. Add a thin layer of sausage on top. Roll up and cut into slices. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.

Oreo Balls:
1 package double stuffed oreos
cream cheese
white chocolate

Chop oreos in chopper. Add cream cheese. Stir until mixture in smooth. Roll into balls and place on wax paper. Put in freezer. Melt white chocolate as instructed on package. Dip balls into white chocolate and let harden.

My 22 week belly.....

Above is a recent picture of my baby belly. I am exactly 22 weeks and two days pregnant. My belly is slowly growing. Coleson has been moving a lot the past two days which I absolutely LOVE to feel. He is really active right after I get through eating. His baby bedding should be in tomorrow and I can't wait to see it. His bed should be shipped in the next few weeks. The one we ordered has been on back order. Just his changing table has made it. We can't wait to get everything set up. His room is almost complete and I will post pictures of the progress once it is done. Abbey and Brandon are so excited about his arrival and are on the countdown.

Coleson's Baby Bedding

Above is the baby bedding that we have picked out for baby Coleson. I am so excited about it and can't wait for it to come in. His nursery is almost built. We have enclosed our dining room and it is looking great. The walls will be tan and not blue.

Our Student of the Week

Brandon was student of the week in his class this past week. Dennis and I went to his class Friday so that Dennis could read to them. Brandon thought he was so special (which he was) because he got to sit at the front of the class with his daddy and read. The class was so cute and funny at the same time. They all wanted to tell Dennis something at the same time. When one started talking, they all had to say something. When it came time for us to leave, Brandon just fell apart and DID NOT want his daddy to leave. It broke my heart because there was nothing that we could do or say. He finally calmed down and went left. I hope one day Coleson and his daddy have that same bond. Brandon is such a daddy's boy. There is no doubt about it!!

Dennis and I are proud to say that we are having a sweet baby boy. The baby is healthy which was the main thing we were concerned about. His name is Coleson Thomas after my dad. He weighed 12 1/2 ounces and was measuring right on time. His heartbeat was 148 bpm. I am so glad to finally refer to the baby as a he and not an it anymore.

I got good reports as well. There was no sugar in my blood this time so I am able to eat sweet again. The doctor told me not to go crazy with them, but that I could have some. I also gained a pound so I am up to one pound now. Thanks for all the prayers for a healthy baby. It definitely paid off.

Rascal's new toy

Dennis bought Rascal a new toy yesterday. It has a squeaker in it and he carried it around all night squeaking it. He loves it. I took this picture this morning. I was getting ready and he came and laid down by my feet and he had his turkey. Let's hope he this one last a little longer than the rest. He tends chew them up fast.

Ok, Ok!

Due to the MANY complaints on making my blog private, I have decided to leave it like it is for the time being. I didn't realize at the time that you had to have a google account to get to see the blog. Many of my work friends and family didn't have this, therefore I got lots of emails asking me not to do this. This is a great way for friends and family to keep up with what's going on in our lives so I want to keep that available for all of them.

Help!!!

I have had the hardest time the past couple of months finding maternity clothes. They are just NOT cute. I heard from several people right after I found out I was pregnant that maternity clothes were so cute and fun to buy. Well please tell me where they are? I LOVE LOVE LOVE to shop (a little too much) and now I am limited to the places I can shop and there is NOTHING. I see pregnant girls all the time in cute clothes so I know that they are out there somewhere. I love jeans and always have. My jeans taste is kinda of expensive, but I promise once you wear a pair you will not want to go back. I like Sevens and Citzens of Humanity. I have been wearing them since I was a junior in college and have even thought about getting a pair in maternity, but I always talk my self out of it because I can't wear them long. My husband even bought me a gift certificate for a pair after the baby is here. I can't wait. Please help me out and tell me where I can shop for maternity clothes.

The Blog is Going Private....

As of this Friday, my blog will be going private. There are several reasons that I am doing this and I feel that it is the right thing to do at this time. If you would like me to add you to the private list, please leave me a comment of email me at ssteed@scui.com. Please don't be embarrassed to email me or leave a comment if you are a "Blog Stalker" of my blog. I totally understand as I'm a blogger stalker as well. Thanks for your help with this!

Student of the Week!

Brandon is student of the week in his class this week. He has different things that he gets to do everyday this week that are about him. Today we had to send the poster above that had a few of his favorite things on it. Notice the picture of me. He drew my belly with a baby in it. How sweet is that! Tomorrow he gets to take his favorite book and read it to the class. Wednesday each person in his class gets to draw a picture of him. Thursday we get to send him a letter saying how proud we are of him and he gets to take his favorite toy. Friday we are taking cupcakes and Dennis is reading to his class. He had a fun week and it is all about him. He is special this week and we are so proud of him.

Brandon loves the football games...

We went to the Mississippi State football game this weekend and Brandon has the best time. He rang his cowbell the entire game as well as stood up and cheered. Hopefully one day he will go there.

Above is a picture of my belly at 17 weeks. To me, this picture doesn't make me look as big as I am.

I had my 17 week appointment this morning and everything went well. I heard the heartbeat and it was 158 beats per minute. It was nice and strong and the doctor said that the baby must be happy today. I was also put on a low carb diet. I had some sugar in my urine and blood. I guess no more sweets, pasta, and potatoes for me. Oh well! If it makes me healthier for the baby, then it is worth it. I go back to the doctor on October 3rd to find out what we are having. They will also do the test on the brain, heart, lungs, etc. to make sure everything is developing right. I am a little nervous about it, but hopefully everything will be just fine. Hopefully the next 3 ½ weeks will go by fast because I can’t wait to find out the sex. Dennis and I have also finalized our names for a girl or boy. It is a secret until we find out what we are having. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the names so I can’t wait to tell.

I am feeling the baby move now. It is very small flutters and thumps, but I feel them several times a day. Now that I know what it feels like I feel them more and more everyday. I can’t wait until Dennis is able to feel them as well. It’s hard to believe that I am almost half way to the arrival. I will be getting busy with the babies room in October after we know what we are having. I love to decorate and pick things out so I can’t wait. Have a great week!

Happy Anniversary to Us!

It is so hard to believe that Dennis and I have been married for a year now. It has been a great first year and hopefully many more to come. Alot has happened this year and we are so thankful for everything. We are so excited about the arrival of Baby Steed and can't wait to have him/her in our family in February. I love you, Dennis and thank you for a great first year of marriage. You are the best husband!!!!

New Pics

Last Weekend I took the kids to the reservoir and took some pictures of them. They turned out pretty good. It was hot and we were going swimming afterwards so they were ready to get them over with fast.

I go back to the doctor in the morning so I will have a new update on baby steed soon.

A Day at the Pool

Sunday I took the kids swimming at the pool at my sisters apartment. They had a great time and it was a good way to cool off. Summer is almost over so not many more days of swimming.

Last Friday Abbey has to do a book report and she had to dress up like the character in her book. She dressed up like Junie B. Jones. Thanks Lorie for letting us use your apron and hat.

Grandma Gone Crazy.....

Above is a picture of all the baby stuff my mom has bought so far. Notice that everything is for either boy or girl. That is because she hasn't given me the stuff that is for one or the other. I have to wait until we know what it is. The baby isn't even here and it is already spoiled rotten. We are so excited and can't wait for it to get here. I am so ready to start getting the room together. Only 7 more weeks to go!

Update on Baby Steed

I had my 13 week appointment yesterday and everything is going well. I was afraid to step on the scale for fear of how much I had gained. Come to find out, I actually lost 3 pounds. I'm not sure where the 3 pounds went considering my clothes are starting to get really tight. The doctor said that it was normal during the first 3 months so we will trust him on that.

The heartbeat was strong at about 160 bpm. I have a feeling that we have a girl in there, but who knows. I am strictly going by the fast heartbeat, but we will know the first of October. I go back for my next appointment on September 8th so lets hope for another great report.

Wii bowling.....

Just about every night, we play bowling on the Wii and last night Chloe, Taylor (cousins), Bethany and Preston came over and a few of them played. It was Dennis, Abbey, Taylor and Preston. Abbey bowled two 300 games (PERFECT) and then on the thrid game she bowled a 275. She missed the strike on the ninth frame. Now please don't think that we have this professional bowler on our hands because yesterday afternoon we went to Fannin Lanes and she bowled a 35 with the bumpers. She is much better at Wii bowling. Below are pictures to show that she really did bowl two 300 games.

Disney World.....

Dennis and I took the kids to Disney World at the end of June. I am just now able to post some pictures. This isn't nearly all of them, but there is no way for me to post them all. My parents went with us. Notice that I am not in hardly any of the pictures of the rides, but I had just found out that I was pregnant so I wasn't able to ride most of them. :( Oh well! We still have a great time and the kids had a blast. Warning: TONS OF PICS BELOW!!!
