Wonderful Weekend

We had such a good weekend. The weather was so nice and we were so glad that we finally got to get out of the house. Abbey and I had a girls night Friday night (plus Coleson). Dennis and Brandon went to his moms and Dennis went hunting Saturday morning. Abbey and I had the house to ourselves and got to do girl things. We woke up Saturday and went to the Jackson Street Fall Festival in Ridgeland. She got to paint a pumpkin at the Easely Amused booth. We had lunch at the Blue Moon Cafe and then met the boys at home and got ready for the fair.

We took the kids to the fair Saturday afternnon. We met Nanny, Dee Dee, Taylor and Chloe there. They had a great time and Abbey finally got Taylor to ride the Ring of Fire. That is them upside down in one of the pictures. Coleson had his first fair biscuit. He thought it was yummy as did the rest of us.

 

 

 

We ran into this sweet girl and her big sister. I just loved Stella Grace's hat. She was warn out.

 

Abbey had a scrimmage game in softball today. Her team did really good and their uniforms looked great. Hopefully her team will do great this year and win some games.

 

 

 

I can't believe the weekend is over and it is already time to start a new week. I hope everyone had a great weekend and has an even better week!

This has been a great week at the Steed household. Nothing exciting happened and we weren't too busy because of all the rain. It was really nice. Abbey had pitching practice last night so they met me at work and we went to Clinton. Dennis is going on a 4-wheeler trip in a few weeks with a bunch of guys and his helmet came in the mail yesterday. Brandon wanted to try it on in the truck. It was huge on his head. He thought it was funny though.


Today is bandanna spirit day at school day. Brandon looked so cute with his on and all the kids were wearing them when I dropped him off this morning.



Abbey and Brandon got report cards yesterday and they both did great. I would like to take a moment and brag. Brandon had ALL A'S and made the Special Honor Roll. We were so proud of him. He has come along way since Kindergarten. His hard work sure has paid off. Abbey had all A's and one B. We are proud of her as well. She has always had good grades for the most part. We have a busy weekend so I will have lots of pictures to post on Monday. We are very jealous that Grammie, Pappy, Uncle PReston and Aunt Bethany are going to watch the bulldogs play in Nashville this weekend. We hope they have a great time and we really hope that the bulldogs have a big W-I-N!

New Product

I love going down the cleaning aisle and finding new products to try. I have a clean fetish and I am always cleaning something. I just can’t help it. I have recently discovered the Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Bowl Gel and I really like it. It last for a week and makes your bathroom smell really clean. One box of the gel can be used 6 or 7 times so that is more than a month. You all should really give it a try. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Not much to post....

I can't believe that it is already Thursday and I haven't blogged this week. Not much has been going on. We were supposed to have another tournament this weekend but they have already cancelled it due to all the rain we have had. Hopefully we will be able to go to the fair Sunday. The kids want to go so bad but the weather is so unpredictable. I hope everyone has had a great week.

Our Weekend...

We had another great weekend. Abbey was supposed to have a softball tournament in Cleveland Saturday but it got rained out Friday so we didn't go. So Dennis went to Starkville instead. Coleson and I stayed at home because the weather is so unpredictable. We got a lot done and even bought his Halloween costume. You will see what he is in a few weeks. It is super cute. Coleson is crawling everywhere and we have even had our first boo boo (sp).

He bumped his head on the computer chair. I thought he was about to pull up on Deenis's leg and he didn't quite make it and bumped his little head. Of course it turned red and was a little goose egg. We pulled out the boo boo bunny and things were all better. It is a little bruised today but should go away soon. Abbey had softball practice today and we ended our weekend by making homemade enchiladas. They were yummy! Abbey and Brandon come home tomorrow and we couldn't be more excited. If the weather holds off, we are going to the fair tomorrow night. Pictures to come soon. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Great Song....

Everytime I hear this song it really makes me stop and think that our kids are growing up fast and soon they will all be off to college. I tear up just writing this post. This is such a great song.

Crawler

Coleson is offically crawling. If you put him on the floor, he goes everywhere. The pictures aren't the best but they will have to do. It is really hard to keep him still long enough to take a good one.

MSU vs. Georgia Tech

What a fun weekend we had. It started out with Abbey having practice Friday night. A bunch of us went out to eat afterwards and the girls enjoyed hanging out with each other somewhere besides the ball fields. Her team seems to get along really good. We are off to a tournament this weekend in Cleveland. I am excited about this tournament because I get to go visit my family too. This is a big weekend in Cleveland so it should be a lot of fun.

We got up Saturday morning and got ready to go to Starkville for the football game. This was Abbey and Brandon’s first game this season and they were super excited. The weather was really nice so tailgating was much better this weekend. Abbey saw some friends of hers and Brandon sat with a friend of his at the game. They had seats on the row above us. It amazes me how Abbey and Brandon both really get into the game. I don’t understand football that much and they both know exactly what is going on. This is a big family tradition we have and I hope it continues for many, many years.

Black Bean Hickory Chicken Pasta

½ box penne pasta
Can of black beans
½ bottle of BBQ sauce (any flavor)
2 cooked chicken breasts, chopped (I used 4.)
1 cup shredded cheese
Parmesan cheese

Cook chicken (however – grilled, baked, boiled) and chop. Boil pasta. In oven dish, combine cooked noodles, chicken, can of beans, BBQ sauce and cheese. Mix and bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Sprinkle Parmesan on top and serve.

This was really good and the kids loved it. It was easy to make too.

8 months old

Coleson is 8 months old today and is just the sweetest thing ever.

Things he is doing now:
- he gives five and high five
- he give sugars
- he goes from the crawling position to the sitting position
- he eats 3rd baby foods
- he claps
- he loves Gerber Graduate snacks and so does Rascal

Abbey has her first softball tournament next weekend that we are excited about going to. I am anxious to see how her team does. She had good grades in her papers this week. We are so proud of her and hope that she will keep it up.

I am loving this cool weather. Coleson got to wear a jacket for the first time this morning. He looks like such a big boy. Abbey loves getting my camera out and taking pictures of her baby brother. Sunday, we are going to give up some of our time and support a great cause. We are participating in a walk for diabetes. It’s nice to do things for others sometimes and not always think about yourself. Dennis and I are trying to teach our kids the importance of this and that if you do something for others then they will do something for you in return.

I tired a new recipe last night and it was really good. Abbey loves soup so I knew she would enjoy it.

Santa Fe Soup:

2 lbs. ground beef
1 white onion
1 package taco seasonings
1 package dry ranch dressing mix
2 cans diced tomatoes
1 can rotel tomatoes
2 cans white corn
1 can pinto beans
1 can black beans
1 can kidney beans
1 cup water

Cook until meat is done in skillet and drain. Put in a soup pot with remaining ingredients and let simmer for 1 hour. Serve warm with corn bread, sour cream, and chips.

MSU vs. LSU

We went to the Northwest Rankin and Warren Central High School football game Friday night. I went to Warren Central so we decided to go and watch the game. It was great getting to visit with people that I have not seen in a while. Saturday morning we got up and headed to Starkville. By the time we got to the game, it was pouring down rain. This is what our tailgate tent looked like.

We still had a great time. Coleson and I stayed at the tent until the rain stopped. He was entertained by all the girls that stayed there as well. Our tailgate is big so there is always someone around to talk too. There are 14 families that we hang out with. We finally made it to the game right before halftime.

Coleson loves to watch the game. He is so good and never hardly makes a sound. My sweet boy loves his bulldogs!

He had finally had all he could take a passed out in my lap. I have no idea how he slept with all the loud noise and the cowbells ringing but some how he did.

Every week we go to Starkville, Coleson always does something new. I had him in the book store this week while we waited on the rain to stop and he went from the crawling position to the sitting position. My baby is getting so big. He can't wait to see his big sister and brother this afternoon.
