Walking a little more....
Every Wednesday night, Dennis and I go eat mexican food. We have been doing this for several months now. We call it our little date night. :) Coleson loves to eat a soft taco and rice. He gets a lot of rice on the floor. They probably hate to see us coming.
Coleson is now walking a lot more. He no longer sits down and crawls when he lets go of something. He turns around and starts walking and then eventually sits down and crawls. He can even walk and drink his sippy cup.
Speaking of sippy cup…. He has not had a single bottle since the day I took them away almost a month ago. This transition was SUPER easy. Maybe they all will be. Could I be so lucky? He is also starting to repeat words that he hears. He can say “Who Dat.” No, Dennis did not teach him this. He came home from daycare saying this. It is so funny because it is more like “WHOOOO DAH.” He has also said dog a few times and will point to Rascal. Our next word we will work on is bulldogs. Football season will be here soon and this word will be very important then.
Coleson is really starting to learn who will give him his way. When Abbey is around, Coleson wants her to hold him. I will try to get him to come to me and he just turns his head. Abbey loves it and honestly I love it too. He will look up to her and hopefully she will always set good examples for all her younger siblings.

A Beautiful Weekend
Friday night we met Dennis's mom and sister and ate mexican food. The kids were so excited to see their cousins.
Saturday we woke up to a beautiful day so I thought it would be perfect to take the kids to the park. It was packed with tons of people. It definitely gave me Spring Fever.
Miss Meridian 2010
Last night Abbey and I went with my mom and sister to Meridian to watch my cousin in a pageant. Well... she won and will now be going to Miss Mississippi in July. We are so excited because growing up in Vicksburg we have been attending this pageant for years and now we will actually being cheering someone we know on. Abbey was SOOO excited when I told her we were going to the pageant and even more excited when she won. Mary Margaret is also Most Beautiful at MSU right now. We are so proud of her and glad to say she is a part of us!

Dixie National Rodeo
We took Coleson with us last night to the rodeo. We ended up leaving right after the concert. He was getting very fussy and it was way past his bedtime. The concert was great and Coleson enjoyed people watching. He loves to do this.
Wathcing the horses in Daddy's lap.
He looked so cute in this cowboy hat.
This is the way I changed Coleson's clothes last night before bed. I was trying so hard not to laugh but he was passed out!
We missed Abbey and Brandon last night. We wished they would have been there with us. These are a few pictures from this past weekend. Abbey and Brandon got to see Coleson at the rodeo and my mom snapped a few pictures for us! Coleson didn't know what to think about Abbey in her cowboy hat.
I am so glad the weekend is almost here. We have a super busy one! I hope everyone has had a great week!Wednesday, February 17, 2010
1 year photo shoot....
Below is a few of the pictures from Coleson’s 1 year photo session. We had some family pictures made as well. For some reason, there is a password this time so if you would like to see more just shoot me an email and I will be happy to give it to you. I’m not too sure about posting it on here for the world to see. I thought they turned out great.

Pass ‘em down
The boots Coleson is wearing in the picture were Brandon’s first pair of cowboy boots when he was little. How sweet is that! They are a size too big right now but I have a feeling it will be hard to get these off of him in a few months when they fit good. I have been told little boys like to wear boots all year round regardless of what they have on. Good times!

Valentine's
Dennis and I had a GREAT Valentine’s Day. My parents took Coleson to the rodeo Saturday and kept him Saturday night so that Dennis could have the day and night all to ourselves. We went out to eat at Tico’s and then went to see Dear John. The movie was really good. Dennis also gave me two pieces of my pottery that I collect. We got to sleep in Sunday morning which was a real treat. We are up by 7:00 EVERY morning these days. Coleson will not sleep past then. The best gift for us was spending time with the kids last night. We got them all a little happy and so did all of their grandparents.
After supper we relaxed and spent time together. Coleson wanted his big sister to rock him to sleep last night and she loved it. He loves her so much and wants her to hold him when she is at our house. We are so glad that he gets to see them a little more now that softball has started. We are about to really get kicked into high gear in a few weeks. I will have my hands FULL chasing a little munchkin around but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Just like Momma!
Coleson loves cold stuff just like me. I LOVE Icee's and slushes. I also love to eat ice. Today we were stuck inside most of the day because of the snow so I let Coleson eat a fruit chiller all by himself. He made a little mess but had a great time doing it! We hope everyone had fun playing in the snow!
Snow Day 2010
I was so excited this morning to wake up to snow on the ground. I was so glad I got to spend the day with my husband and sweet little boy. We got dressed and went outside and played in it. This is the most snow I have ever seen in MS. Coleson had fun playing in it. At one point, I looked down and he was eating it.

Our Weekend and Encouraging words.....
Update: Coleson took 5 steps for Dennis and I tonight. We both got really excited. It won't be long now!
Original post:
This past weekend was extremely busy but we had a lot of fun. We got up Saturday and took Abbey to Common Ground and picked her up at lunch time. We went and tried Mississippi Legend Grill for lunch. The food was really good but it took FOREVER to get our food…over an hour waiting on it. The kids had a great time though. You place your order on a touch screen at the table and then you can play games on it. That entertained them the entire time.
We left there and took Dennis and Brandon home and me, Abbey and Coleson headed out to a Kelly’s Kids clothing party. We came home to the boys being lazy watching TV. Saturday night, we went to Dennis’s sister’s house to eat supper. His mom cooked ribs and chicken. It was yummy and the kids got to spend time with their cousins. On the way home Coleson was wathcing Abbey play her DS and had his hand on her arm. It was the sweetest thing.
We got up Sunday and had family pictures made. I will post the link to these as soon as I get them back. I am sure they turned out super cute…from what I saw they did! Abbey had softball practice right after lunch. Coleson took his first step at her practice. I second guessed myself after it happened and thought maybe I was just hoping he did, BUT the daycare told me today that he took a step for them so my baby will be walking soon. Then it was off to a Super Bowl party last night. There were tons of kids there so we all had a great time. We ate some good finger foods (which I love) and had a great time with friends.
Coleson found this rocking chair and enjoyed sitting in it.
Coleson moved rooms at daycare today. He is no longer in the baby room all day, just a few hours. They only allow 5 kids in his new room at a time. Am I sad about this? Not really! I am just thankful that I have a sweet, precious boy to move up to the next room.
This was posted on another blog I read today. Thanks Valerie for the encouraging words. This was perfect for today!
"Come to Me for rest and refreshment. The journey has been too much for you, and you are bone-weary. Do not be ashamed of your exhaustion. Instead, see it as an opportunity for Me to take charge of your life. Remember that I can fit everything into a pattern for good, including the things you wish were different. Start with where you are at this point in time and space, accepting that this is where I intend you to be. You will get through today one step, one moment at a time. Your main responsibility is to remain attentive to Me, letting Me guide you through the many choices along your pathway. This sounds like an easy assignment, but it is not. Your desire to live in My Presence goes against the grain of "the world, the flesh, and the devil." Much of your weariness results from your constant battle against these opponents. However, you are on the path of My choosing, so do not give up! Hope in Me, for you will again praise Me for the help of My Presence.------taken from Jesus Calling by Sarah Young

Bulldog Fans
Last night we went to The South downtown and heard Dan Mullen (MSU’s head football coach) speak. Yesterday was Mississippi State’s Signing Day 2010 and there were more than 500 fans there. I have definitely turned my family into die hard fans. Uncle Preston has helped too. We love going to sporting events, especially football, throughout the year. I am already pumped about football season starting up again. I could live in Starkville during that time.
Coach Mullen brought the Egg Bowl trophy with him and Coleson got to touch it. I will cherish this picture for as long as I live. He will love it one day and be glad that I took it.
I have said this multiple times but Dennis and I really hope that all of our children choose to go to college and I really hope that it is Mississippi State. I have a really good feeling that Coleson will. He was born a bulldog fan! I have great memories at MSU and now my kids do and we hope to continue to give them those for years to come.
Our hearts bleed Maroon and White.
