I am getting so big...

This post is more for me but some of you will enjoy as well. I want to document this so that I can get it in the baby book one day. Here are a few things that Coleson has been doing lately at 4 months.

-He smiles at anyone and everything.
-He is a morning baby. He is in such a good mood when he wakes up. As soon as he sees one of us standing over his bed, he gives us a big smile.
-He is rolling over now from stomach to back.
-He is eating some baby food now. He has had bananas and sweet potatoes. He likes bananas ok, but he LOVES sweet potatoes. He gets mad when I run out.
-He is starting to coo at us.
-He makes a noise with his mouth where he sticks his tongue out and blows.
-He is still sleeping all night which is great for Dennis and me.
-He will notice us now and follow us around with his eyes. When I put him in the car, he will watch me shut the door.
-He is the favorite at his daycare. I know this because they tell me all the time.

4 Months Old...

Coleson had his 4 month check up yesterday and the doctor said he looked great. He got two shots, one in each leg, and an oral medicine. He did great until the second shot and that’s when he started screaming. Poor little baby!
4 month stats:
Height: 24 inches (25 percentile)
Weight: 14 lbs., 5 oz. (50 percentile)
Head circumference: 41 cm (50 percentile)

He got to start eating baby food and drinking juices last night. I gave him bananas and it was pretty interesting. It was fun but very messy. My sweet little baby is growing up way to fast.

Memorial Day Fun

We had such a fun Memorial Day today. We were all together and got to enjoy some good ole quality time with each other. My parents have friends that have a lake house off of the Natchez Trace that we went too. It was such a peaceful day even though it rained off and on. They have a lake that we fished on. I didn't do much fishing but everyone else enjoyed it even in the rain. That certainly didn't stop them. They have an electric canoe that Abbey and Brandon had fun on. Abbey even got to drive a tractor. She had so much fun doing that. Coleson was really good the whole day. We sat out on the screened porch so he loved it. We were all so tired when we got home. I hope everyone else's was as great as mine.

I heart everyone!!

Dennis and Abbey laid in the floor at Ma's house today and played with Coleson.

Dennis and I love laying in the floor and kiss on Coleson.

Sweet Baby Boy!!

Coleson loves talking to his big sister. She talks to him all the time and he just stares and listens to her.

Coleson's Aunt Cathy and Uncle Bill were in town this weekend and they came by to see him. They saw him when he was a week old so they were suprised to see how much he had changed. He was so good for them. They keep up with my blog so they see him all the time, but it was great for them to see him in person. Abbey is supposed to have a tournament in Tupelo at the end of June so hopefully the rest of my family will get to see him again soon. It has been way to long. Sorry the pictures didn't turn out good. I found these on my camera. I guess Brandon took these. He loves taking pictures.

Lincoln Logs

When my parents moved to Madison, they made one of the spare bedrooms a play room. We went to their house Saturday afternoon and Abbey, Brandon, Dennis and my dad had a great time playing with the Lincoln Logs. It is so much fun to see them playing with toys that my sister and I used to play with as kids. They created a little community and Brandon wanted me to take a picture of everything.

5th Grade Awards Day....

Abbey had her last awards day in elementary school yesterday. She got the President’s Award and we were so proud of her. This was also the last day that Abbey and Brandon will ever be in the school together. Brandon will have to be a big boy next year because he will be on his own. I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by. We have lots planned this summer so it will go by quick. Sorry the pictures are so blurry. It was hard to get a good picture of her. Coleson had a great time too and I took lots of snapshots of him. Enjoy!!

Congrats Abbey!

Abbey found out this week that she made all-stars in softball. We are so proud of her and all her hard work. She loves softball and it definitely shows when she steps up to the batters box or pitchers mound. We love you Abbey and are so proud of everything you do. Keep your head up high and you will suceed!

Dear Daddy,
This is Coleson. I hear a few other people call you daddy too so I wanted to make sure you knew it was me. I have missed you so much this week and can’t wait for you to get home. I bet when I see you smile at me I will give you a big huge smile back. I like it when you call and talk to me. My eyes get really big and I sit there and listen to you. My momma has taken good care of me this week but I am ready for you to come home and help her. It’s just not the same without you. I miss hearing you call me all of my nicknames. I love you, Daddy!

Coleson

P.S. – I think Rascal is missing you too. He has been barking at Momma a lot and it drives her CRAZY!

The Sporting Spirit

Abbey and Brandon were asked to be on The Sporting Spirit. This is a sports radio talk show and they represented Northwest Rankin Athletic Association. They had a great time and ended up winning the game that was played. Their team will also be featured in the magazine. You can hear them here. It is the first one with Chris Bates and Stuart Kellog.

Am I a bad mother?

Coleson has been sleeping through the night really well. For about 5 weeks in a row, we were sleeping through the entire night. It was wonderful and I was really getting spoiled. Things have now changed. For some reason, Coleson is waking up around 4:00 now. I’m not sure why. I would assume for a bottle, but why is it just starting now. I have tried everything I know to do. I now give him 5 oz with rice in his bottle. I’ve tried keeping him up later, but nothing is working. I don’t know what else to do. Two people have told me that if I let him cry himself back to sleep that it will only take three nights for him to figure out that I’m not coming to get him and he will teach himself to go back to sleep. Well folks, tonight will be night number three and I don’t know if I can make it. Sunday night, he woke up about 4:15 and whined a little but eventually went back to sleep for a little while. That was not the case last night. He woke up at 4:00 and cried for two hours straight. Dennis kept saying, “Don’t get up and get him. Just let him cry.” Finally at 6:00, after cat napping for two hours, I gave him a bottle. It was almost time for me to get up so I don’t think that I messed up what we are trying to do. Who knows what tonight will bring. I guess what I am trying to get at is am I bring a bad mother for letting my 3 month old baby lay in his bed and cry? Is it normal for them to cry for this long during the 3 nights that I am waiting out? It breaks my heart when I go in there and he looks up at me and gives me a big smile. Now I do understand that he is a baby and that they wake up at night, I just don’t understand why we did this for so long and now a change. Does anyone have any advice?

A Birthday Cookout...

We went and ate at Preston's parents house Sunday night to celebrate Bethany and Preston's birthdays. They are a few days apart so they celebrate together. My parents, Rebecca and Michael, and Lauren were there too. Rebecca and I were pregnant at the same time. She had Taylor exactly one week before I did.

Coleson and Taylor passed out. Rebecca and I will have to show this picture to them in 20 years.

Anderson loved Abbey. She is getting to be such a big girl. I can't believe that she will be two in a month.
